- 4 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 0.5 cup chana dal, boiled
- 2 whole green chili, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 0.5 tsp cumin seeds
- 0.5 tsp amchur
- 0.5 tsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp cornstarch (for binding)
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Mix mashed potato, cornstarch, half the spices, and salt; divide into equal balls.
- Season the cooked chana dal with remaining spices, salt, and chili.
- Flatten each potato ball, add a spoonful of dal filling, seal, and flatten into a patty.
- Heat oil on a flat pan or tawa over medium heat.
- Cook tikkis 3–4 minutes per side, pressing lightly, until golden and crispy.
- Serve with yogurt, tamarind chutney, and green chutney.
