Ingredients
- 1 cuprice
- 1 cupsplit moong dal
- 1 tbspghee
- 1 tspcumin seeds
- 1 tspginger, grated
- 1 tspturmeric
- 1 tspasafoetida
- 1 tspsalt
- 1 cupswater
Ingredients
- 0.75 cup rice
- 0.5 cup split moong dal
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 0.5 tsp ginger, grated
- 0.5 tsp turmeric
- 0.25 tsp asafoetida
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 cups water
Instructions
- Rinse rice and dal together; soak 10 minutes.
- Heat ghee in a pressure cooker; add cumin, ginger, hing, and turmeric.
- Add rinsed rice and dal; stir 1 minute. Add water and salt.
- Pressure cook 2 whistles on medium heat.
- Let pressure release; open and mash to a creamy, porridge-like consistency.
- Serve warm with extra ghee, pickle, and curd.
