Ingredients

  • 300 gdried/salted beef (charque)
  • 300 gwhite rice
  • 1 largeonion
  • 3 piecegarlic cloves
  • 2 mediumtomato
  • 20 mlolive oil
  • 2 piecebay leaves
  • 3 gblack pepper
  • 15 gparsley
  • 700 mlwater

Ingredients

  • 300 g dried/salted beef (charque)
  • 300 g white rice
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 piece garlic cloves
  • 2 medium tomato
  • 20 ml olive oil
  • 2 piece bay leaves
  • 3 g black pepper
  • 15 g parsley
  • 700 ml water

Instructions

  1. Soak charque in cold water overnight, changing water twice. Drain and shred.
  2. Cook shredded beef in olive oil until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add onion, garlic, and tomatoes. Sauté 5 minutes.
  4. Add rice, bay leaves, pepper, and water. Bring to boil, reduce heat and cook 20 minutes covered.
  5. Fluff with a fork, garnish with parsley and serve hot.
