Ingredients
- 1 cupmoong or masoor dal
- 1 cupsfresh spinach, roughly chopped
- 1 mediumonion, diced
- 1 mediumtomato, diced
- 1 tbspgarlic-ginger paste
- 1 tspcumin seeds
- 1 tspturmeric
- 1 tspred chili powder
- 1 tbspoil
- 1 tspsalt
Ingredients
- 0.75 cup moong or masoor dal
- 2 cups fresh spinach, roughly chopped
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1 tbsp garlic-ginger paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 0.5 tsp turmeric
- 0.5 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Cook dal with 3 cups water and turmeric until soft; set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan; add cumin seeds, then onion and sauté until golden.
- Add garlic-ginger paste, tomato, and spices; cook until oil separates.
- Add spinach and stir until wilted, about 2 minutes.
- Pour in cooked dal, combine everything, and simmer 5 minutes.
- Season with salt and serve with roti or steamed rice.
